Flat Stomach Exercise- Your Ultimate Guide

Everybody wants a toned and flat stomach, but not everybody has the discipline and determination to obtain one. Let’s face it: You cannot get an instant abs by just sitting around and eating junk foods all day. You have to move your body and cut back on fatty foods. It may take a lot of hard work, but the rewards will be worth it. You can start your journey to model-like abs with the following flat stomach exercise routines.

The first kind of flat stomach exercise is the basic crunch. The basic crunch works out the muscles in the upper abdomen. Start this exercise by lying with your back against the floor or exercise mat. Put your hands on the back of your head or cross them in front of your chest. Bend your knees so that it forms a 90 degree angle with your feet. With this position, lift your upper body closer to your knees as if touching them. Do this while keeping your feet in place and using your abdominal muscles to lift your upper body. Then slowly return to your original position. Repeat this around 15-30 times. After doing this exercise, you can feel pain in the upper abdomen. Do not worry because this is a sign that the exercise is working.

The second is the reverse crunch which is a flat stomach exercise that works out the lower abdomen. Start this exercise by lying flat on the floor or exercise mat and place your hands near your hips. Then slowly lift your legs with slightly bent knees around six inches above the floor as if touching the chest. By this time, you will feel pressure in the lower abdomen. After this, slowly lower your legs back to the floor. Repeat this 15-30 times.

The third is the oblique crunch which works out the sides of the stomach. Start this exercise by lying against on the floor. Place right foot flat on the floor with right knee bent forming a 90 degree angle with the foot. Then put left foot on top of right knee and place hands on the back of the head. From this position, bring your right shoulder closer to your left knee while contracting the sides of the abdomen in the process. Then, slowly go back to the original position. After 15-30 repetitions, switch sides and bring left shoulder this time to the raised right knee. Repeat this for another 15-30 times.

No matter how much abdominal exercises you do per day, the results will not show if you have layers of fats covering your stomach. Therefore, it is important to shed off these fats through cardiovascular exercises or aerobic exercises. These types of exercise must be done for at least 30 minutes per day. Some common examples of cardiovascular exercises include running, cycling, brisk walking, dancing, swimming or any activity that can help you sweat and keep your heart rate up.

It’s NO Secret! Certain Foods eaten in the right patterns triggers the fat burning process. Yes! FOODS that you eat can either make you THIN or FAT. Think about the diet plans that allow you to eat 4-5 meals a day and the weight just falls off! Why do you suppose that is? Not eating the right foods at the right times means that your body will store more calories than it should burn. Can The answer to fat loss really be that simple? You bet it can.

While Exercise helps to burn calories, By Not exercising isn’t what makes you fat. Taking in the wrong type of calories at the wrong intervals is what makes you fat. Although exercise will help speed up the body’s metabolism and burn fat, the more your body is inactive the slower your metabolism gets and the less it burns. Using either the wrong fuel period, food, or not enough of the right fuel at the right times, to keep the furnace burning means calories get stored. Most people don’t eat the right foods each day to keep the fat burning process going. Fact is you can slim down from just the simple process of eating fat burning types of foods at the right times.

Although as controversial a subject as fat loss is, Starving yourself or Exercise has nothing to do with losing weight, at least not in the way that it is portrayed other than exercise burns calories by manipulating your furnace (metabolism) by use of muscles and starving yourself doesn’t work because the human body is more complex than that. Reducing caloric intake merely reduces the fat burning process in a sense.

With A healthy metabolism, while on a low calorie diet 2,000 calories eaten means the body will burn 2,000 calories, the furnace stays on when done correctly with the right foods (types of calories). To starve yourself, not only do you deprive your body of needed minerals and nutrients, but if you eat only 500 calories, your body will also only burn 500 calories. So how, if the body adjusts itself according to intake, does the fat burning hormones kick in? (I’ll explain that further along in the article). Of all the low fat foods that you buy, Have you noticed any significant fat loss lately? Low carb diets are a nuisance and have far too many restrictions and you stay miserable and hungry, whats up with that? Clearly not the answer to fat loss, at least not long term.

So what is the answer to losing weight without being left feeling miserable, frustrated, and hopeless? FOOD! Remember, the right type foods eaten at the right times equals fat burning! O.K. enough with the semantics.

Shifting calories is when you actually keep changing the type of calories and meals for more than a couple days at a time. This method shocks the metabolism, confuses it which causes faster fat loss. It can’t very well go by a preset trend to burn calories and by the time it does readjusts itself, you’ll have changed the menu again.

Your diet menu shifts every few days. The type of calories eaten will be from foods that burn very quickly and when those calories get burned up your metabolism will seek the closest fat tissue and burn it also. You can literally burn up to a pound of fat a day with out doing any exercise or anything.

The truth is that this is not only unnecessary, but it can actually be counterproductive if you’re really trying to get as lean as possible, as quick as possible. I go into this in much more detail in the book, but basically this all comes back to the aspects of your metabolic rate, how much lean muscle you have, the hormonal response in your body from the exercise, and the residual calorie burn in the hours and days following your workouts. And normal boring cardio routines are ALL WRONG when it comes to maximizing these effects!


Now you’re probably thinking that since I’m against typical boring cardio routines, then that must simply mean I’m a proponent of interval training. Yes, as a matter of fact, I believe interval training is MUCH better than typical cardio.


However, I also use a special exercise combination and sequencing in my Truth about Six Pack Abs Program that gets even more powerful fat loss and muscle defining results than interval training. And that’s saying something, because interval training kicks butt! You’ll find out how this system works inside the program.


Want proof that you don’t need typical long-duration steady-pace cardio?


Well, first of all, I actually took a course recently that was devoted to scientific research into why steady-pace cardio exercise is actually not that effective at strengthening the heart. The focus of the research basically boiled down to the fact that the heart needs to be trained in a wide variety of ranges to actually be truly strengthened and ready for all the various stresses that life throws at it. Not only that, but steady-pace cardio was also proven in the research studies to be far less effective in the long term at reducing body fat stores.


To give you a real life example… Personally, I haven’t done what most people would label “cardio” in probably well over 5 years, and I’m actually leaner now and have a lower bodyfat % now than years ago when I did cardio regularly. Not only that, but my heart is in the best condition ever, as I now consistently have the resting heart rate of an elite athlete at about 50 bpm (remember that lower is better). My resting heart rate used to be in the mid to upper 60′s years ago when I used to do typical cardio and strength training routines like most people do.


This improvement in both body fat % and reduced resting heart rate is the direct result of the unique training methods I used in developing the programs in The Truth about Six Pack Abs.



This program does NOT revolve around having to use supplements or “fat-loss” pills.

Trust me when I say that for the most part, about 95% of supplements are a complete waste of your hard earned money. I’ve been approached by supplement companies in the past looking for me to promote their products for them, and offering me a lot of money to do so. Well, you know what I do? I tell them to shove it! Seriously, I won’t promote something to my readers that I don’t honestly believe in.

I also admit that I do think a high quality, fast digesting protein like whey protein can be useful to mix into your post-workout smoothies.


But the fact is that real food is always better for you than processed supplements (as long as you pick the right “real foods”). Anybody that tells you otherwise has either been brainwashed by all of the propaganda and super-hyped up ads that the supplement companies have spread throughout every magazine on the planet, or they have financial ties to selling supplements in some way themselves.


I have dedicated myself to not being lured into the lucrative world of selling supplements. Even though I could make a lot more money selling supplements than by selling my abs program, it’s just plain against my morals to rip people off like that.


Frankly, it amazes me that most people are more willing to spend $30, $40, even $50 or more on a bottle of pills or powder than to spend $30 on a comprehensive training and nutrition guide like this Truth about Six Pack Abs program, which will set them up for life on training programs and dietary secrets that will keep them lean and ripped for life. The only thing that bottle of pills or powder is going to do is give you expensive urine! You make the choice.



This program does not revolve around using any fancy “ab machines” or “ab gadgets”.

The great thing is that once you start eating balanced and healthy all the time, you virtually eliminate cravings altogether. Personally, I used to crave sweets constantly before I adopted the nutritious diet that I currently eat. Now, I can honestly say I can’t remember the last craving I had. It had to be more than 5 years ago… no joke!


Not only that, but I actually enjoy everything I eat way more than I used to years ago when I ate a lot of junk. Does that mean that I never eat burgers, or pizza, or beer?
